As some of you may know, I am a member of a High School Outreach Committee that focuses on helping high school girls interested in pursuing careers in the communications/media field. I will also be a moderator for one of the panels at this event.
The event is called Careers in Media Day. It is half-day (9am-2pm) college and career prep program on Saturday, October 25. Here are some details from our committee:
NYWICI HSO hosts an intimate, half-day, career exploration workshop that introduces high school students to a range of communication career disciplines and networking opportunities with established professionals in the communications field. Students receive real information and valid and relevant answers to their career questions right from the source. Professionals in the communications field educate students about career paths, academic options, industry resources, and best practices to help them successfully navigate the changing communications landscape. Students learn what it takes to build a successful career in Public Relations, Marketing, Print, Broadcast and Digital Media.
